On July 23, the Exchange Meeting for Enterprises Included in Guangzhou's Innovative Medicines and Medical Devices Catalogue was successfully held in the conference room of the Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission. Li Yijie, Fourth-level Principal Staff Member of the Pharmaceutical Policy Division of the Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission, Xie Zhiying from the Secretariat of the Special Working Group for the Development of the Guangzhou Alliance of Research-oriented Hospitals, and Lin Wei, person in charge of the organizer of Guangzhou Medical Expo, attended the meeting. Persons in charge of enterprises listed in the first and second batches of Guangzhou's Innovative Medicines and Medical Devices Catalogue participated in the meeting.

It was clarified at the meeting that this Guangzhou Medical Expo will focus on launching two distinctive Guangzhou-Chengdu industrial coordination events, striving to build a highland for cross-regional exchange and cooperation in innovative medicines and medical devices.

First, host the Guangzhou-Chengdu Innovative Medicines and Medical Devices Application Exchange Conference (Q3) as a key event. As a regular activity under the mutual recognition of innovative medicines and medical device catalogs between Guangzhou and Chengdu, this exchange conference will gather resources from top-tier hospitals and high-quality pharmaceutical and medical device enterprises in both cities. Adopting diverse forms including policy briefings, sharing of clinical application experience, enterprise product roadshows, leadership venue tours, and one-on-one targeted negotiations, it will connect the industrial, clinical and market sectors of the two regions and establish a long-term cooperation mechanism.

Second, build a characteristic exhibition zone exclusively for innovative pharmaceutical and medical device enterprises. During the exhibition, exclusive exhibition areas for innovative pharmaceutical and medical device enterprises in Chengdu and enterprises included in the Guangdong innovative pharmaceutical and medical device catalogue will be set up. The health commissions of the two cities will respectively coordinate and organize high-quality local enterprises to exhibit collectively, so as to comprehensively deepen the complementary cooperation and resource sharing of the pharmaceutical industries between Guangzhou and Chengdu.

The Municipal Health Commission stated that it will take the 2026 Guangzhou Medical Expo as an important carrier to continuously build a regular and long-term platform for hospital-enterprise docking. In addition to special on-site negotiation sessions during the expo, regular offline docking events will be organized afterwards. The commission will coordinate leaders of medical institutions at all levels to engage in targeted communication with innovative enterprises. Focusing on clinical demands and industrial pain points, it will facilitate the translation and application of innovative pharmaceutical and medical device achievements, advance in-depth project cooperation, and boost high-quality industrial development.
