The 2026 Guangzhou Medical and Health Industry Expo (hereinafter referred to as the Guangzhou Medical Expo) is one of the specialized exhibitions within the 34th Guangzhou Expo, organized by the People's Government of Guangzhou Municipality. In accordance with the exhibition principles and operational arrangements of the Guangzhou Expo, the 2026 event is jointly coordinated by the Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission and the Guangzhou Cooperation Office. The expo will focus on three major themes— "cutting-edge technologies and future medicine," "industry-academia-research-application collaboration and innovative synergy," and "health consumption and quality living" —covering the dimensions of public welfare, science and technology, and ecological sustainability. It adopts a "3+8+X" integrated exhibition framework to establish a comprehensive exchange platform spanning from laboratories to clinical settings, from technologies to services, and from industries to society, aiming to present a distinctive Guangzhou-based medical and health industry exhibition that is sophisticated, compassionate, and highly effective.

Exhibition Background

The Guangzhou Medical and Health Industry Expo (abbreviated as "Guangzhou Medical Expo") will be grandly held from August 21 to 23,2026, at Zone B of the Canton Fair Complex.

To thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, fully carry out the national directives on deepening the reform of the medical and health system, align closely with the development guidelines of the "Healthy China 2030" initiative, leverage Guangzhou's robust foundation and high-quality resources in the medical and health industry, and adhere to the recommendations of the 15th Five-Year Plan regarding support for innovative drugs and medical devices, the 2026 Guangzhou Medical Expo focuses on the national industrial development strategy. It aims to promote deep integration between medical services, the health industry, scientific research innovation, and the real economy, accelerating the establishment of a collaborative and progressive ecosystem for innovative development in the medical and health sector across the entire industrial chain.

As the nation's first medical and health industry expo spearheaded by a health administration department, the 2026 Guangzhou Medical Expo will extensively invite officials from national, provincial, municipal, and district-level authorities to attend. It aims to provide enterprises with face-to-face policy guidance and targeted matchmaking services, enabling them to seize policy opportunities and access high-quality resources.

The Municipal Health Commission and relevant departments have actively participated in organizing activities such as policy briefings, hospital director visits, and centralized procurement demand announcements, providing direct channels for enterprises to connect with medical institutions and government agencies.

Four specialized inspection teams have been established, led by national, provincial, and municipal health authorities, local governments, as well as relevant departments such as science and technology and investment promotion. These teams consist of leaders at various levels, healthcare system officials, hospital administrators, clinical experts, research specialists, corporate executives, and representatives from the investment community, who conduct museum inspections in batches. Each team sequentially carries out tasks including field investigations, alignment of clinical needs, deep integration of industry-academia-research collaboration, and investment promotion negotiations, aiming to fully facilitate the commercialization of achievements in the pharmaceutical and health industry, strengthen hospital-enterprise cooperation, promote collaborative scientific innovation, and facilitate the implementation and signing of high-quality projects.
(6) Based in the Greater Bay Area with distinct characteristics

A dedicated "Hong Kong-Macao Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Access" matchmaking event and an international medical services exhibition zone will be established to leverage resources from Hong Kong and Macao, facilitating the entry of cross-border innovative pharmaceuticals and medical devices into the mainland market. Medical institutions from Hong Kong and Macao as well as multinational pharmaceutical companies are invited to participate in the event.
