Following the pace of the national high-quality development strategy, actively responding to the call of the General Office of the State Council to strengthen the performance evaluation of tertiary public hospitals, and practicing the relevant spirit of the Guangdong Provincial Health Work Conference, a public hospital performance evaluation exchange event with the theme of "policy guidance and benchmark guidance" was held in the beautiful city of Guangzhou from the 23rd to the 24th of this month. This conference is not only an important milestone in the high-quality development of public hospitals in China, but also a powerful practice of Guangdong Province's commitment to building a healthy Guangdong and creating a demonstration province for high-quality development of health and hygiene.

The onference focused on the core topic of "Gathering Strength for High Quality Development of Public Hospitals", and deeply analyzed the policy background, practical path, and profound significance of performance evaluation of public hospitals in improving the quality of medical services and promoting modernization of hospital management. It attracted more than 1200 guests from top medical institution managers, well-known experts and scholars, and colleagues in the medical industry from all over the country to actively participate, and brainstormed and provided suggestions for the high-quality development of public hospitals in Guangdong Province.

President Yu Xueqing of Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital (Guangdong Academy of Medical Sciences) reviewed the hospital's exploration process and fruitful achievements in performance evaluation and high-quality development. In 2022, it ranked 17th in the national examination and achieved double improvement in ranking scores. In 2023, it won 116 awards from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, ranking 13th among national medical institutions and setting a new historical high. Dean Yu emphasized that under the guidance of the "national examination baton", the provincial hospital is comprehensively coordinated, with the short-term goal of returning to A++in the performance evaluation of public hospitals nationwide, and the medium - and long-term goal of jointly building a national key laboratory and a national comprehensive medical center by the province and the ministry. Adhering to the 16 word policy of "consistent goals, appropriate methods, effective implementation, and strict management", the hospital is continuously promoting high-quality development, and effectively building Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital into a benchmark hospital with high-quality medical services, high-level medical technology, and efficient operation and management, providing the people with higher quality and efficient medical services, and making greater contributions to the construction of a healthy China and a healthy Guangdong.

They came from well-known medical institutions such as the Run Run Shaw Hospital affiliated with Zhejiang University School of Medicine, the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat sen University, Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, Ruijin Hospital affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, West China Hospital of Sichuan University, the Third Hospital of Peking University, and the Cancer Prevention and Treatment Center of Sun Yat sen University, Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center, and Sun Yat sen Ophthalmology Center of Sun Yat sen University. Through various forms such as keynote speeches, case studies, experience sharing, and roundtable dialogues, valuable experiences and innovative measures in performance evaluation, hospital management, and medical quality improvement were shared without reservation, providing a feast for participants to collide ideas and blend wisdom.
