Exhibition background
Medical institutions play an important role in supporting the healthy development of the clinical research industry. They can serve as participants in registered clinical trials in the biopharmaceutical industry to provide clinical evaluation data and evidence, as well as support researchers in our institution to initiate clinical studies (IITs) to generate research results and benefit from their application and transformation.
Currently, the development of clinical research industry in medical institutions is in a critical window period. In recent years, the performance evaluation of tertiary public hospitals by the National Health Commission has included clinical research funding and achievement conversion as evaluation indicators, with a relatively high weight.
As of now, more than 1500 medical institutions in China have completed the registration of clinical trial institutions for drugs and devices, with about 30000 registered researchers. Experienced institutions need brand building, and many institutions urgently need to achieve zero breakthroughs and expand project cooperation sources. The development of clinical research industry in medical institutions also requires more high-quality supporting supplier cooperation in IIT and achievement transformation. Moreover, the competition among biopharmaceutical companies is intensifying, and there is an urgent need to improve research and development efficiency and reduce clinical operating costs.
It can be seen that the clinical research industry is becoming an important emerging business field for the high-quality development of medical institutions. However, there is an objective situation of low resource allocation efficiency between medical institutions and enterprises, such as information asymmetry and uneven development. By organizing clinical research institutions and enterprises to participate in exhibitions and facilitating full communication and transactions between the supply and demand sides of clinical research resources, it will undoubtedly promote the integrated development of the clinical research industry.
Exhibition Introduction
As a concurrent exhibition activity of the Guangzhou Medical Expo, the Guangzhou Medical Expo is a key professional exhibition of the 32nd Guangzhou Expo hosted by the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government. It is jointly guided and organized by the Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission and the Guangzhou Cooperation Office. The first clinical research conference was successfully held from August 25th to 27th, 2023 at the exhibition hall of the Canton Fair! With strong support from leaders at all levels such as the National Health Commission, the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government, the Guangdong Provincial Health Commission, and the Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission, a total of 51000 exhibitors, purchasers, professional visitors, media, and practitioners were attracted to visit and exchange ideas. The clinical research conference aimed to facilitate clinical research project negotiations and cooperation exchanges. Through the conference trading platform, a total of 563 letters of intent for project cooperation were signed in three days.
